Through Regulatory Standard No. 9/25, of 18 September 2025, the Angolan Insurance Regulation and Supervision Agency (Agência Angolana de Regulação e Supervisão de Seguros) (“ARSEG”)) established the legal framework applicable to microinsurance activity.
The regulation applies to both microinsurance companies and insurance companies authorized to operate microinsurance as a business segment, setting out the conditions for access and operation of this activity, along with the applicable accounting rules.
This Regulatory Standard came into force on the date of its publication and stipulates that all insurers offering microinsurance products without ARSEG authorization must formalize their operations within six months.
